Introduction

The YardsTech® Scales will work with almost any type of load bars/cells, however they may need to be calibrated to the particular load bars/cells you are using.

Also over time load bars/cells can move out of specification on their own and the procedure below can help you counteract that ensure you are getting the most accurate weight possible from your system.

There are 2 methods available to calibrate your YardsTech® Scales, however the first method is the better one to use.

Preferred Calibration Method

• The load bars/cells can be calibrated in-situ i.e. they don't need to be removed from the weighing platform
• The test weight should be as large as possible, within the limits of the load bars/cells
• Clean any debris from on, around and under the weighing platform before commencing calibration.
• The test weight will need to be placed in 2 different locations on the weighing platform, ideally over (or under) the load bars/cells.

Calibration Process

1. Go into the setup area within the YardsTech® App for the device you are calibrating. Refer HERE.
2. Select the Calibration button.
3. Make sure there is no weight on the weighing platform.
4. Press the Zero button to zero the weighing platform.
5. On the next screen enter the weight of the test weight and then press the Continue button.
6. Place the test weight on the weighing in the first location and wait for it to settle.
7. Press the Continue button and wait for the calculation to complete - DO NOT move of alter the weight during this calculation.
8. Now move the test weight to the second location and wait for it to settle.
9. Press the Continue button and wait for the calculation to complete - DO NOT move of alter the weight during this calculation.
10. Once completed you will be shown the completion screen. Press the Finish button to accept the calibration factors and set them in the YardsTech® Scales.

Alternate Calibration Method

• Each load bar must be calibrated separately.
• Clean any debris off the load bar before commencing calibration.

Calibration Process

1. Make sure there is no weight on the load bar.
2. Go into the setup area within the YardsTech® App for the device you are calibrating. Refer HERE.
3. Select the "Calibration (old method)" button.
4. Place a known weight on the load bar to be calibrated. Ideally the weight should be a reasonable proportion of the load bar's capacity. Remember to never exceed the total weight rating of the load bar.
5. Enter the weight you have placed onto the load bar into the appropriate edit box on the calibration screen. Take note of whether you are calibrating the left or right hand side load bar (i.e. which connector on the YardsTech® Scale the load bar is connected to).
6. Press the appropriate Calibrate button.
7. Calibrate the other load bar using this same procedure.
8. Restart the YardsTech® Scales.
